For Supplement Manufacturers
Independent science. A label you can trust.
ClaimCheck certification gives your health claims independent scientific credibility, and protects your product from FDA enforcement risk at the same time. Stand out in a market full of unverified health claim assertions.
Why getting certified by ClaimCheck
Most manufacturers think about health claims as a marketing decision. They are also a reputational and regulatory one.
A visible ClaimCheck logo signals to consumers and retailers that your health claims have been validated by an independent body.
Getting your health claims certified by an independent body directly increases the visibility and credibility of your brand. As consumer scrutiny around the science behind health claims continues to grow, certified brands will stand out.
Manufacturers who certify with ClaimCheck receive a full regulatory compliance report alongside their scientific validity rating. Our evaluation explicitly assesses whether your health claim complies with FDA structure/function requirements under DSHEA.
Brands with a documented, independent review of health claim compliance are significantly better positioned in the event of an FDA inquiry or warning letter.
The Process
The ClaimCheck evaluation is rigorous but straightforward. We handle the scientific and regulatory review, you get a clear report and, when warranted, a certification logo you can display.
Provide the exact label claim text, the ingredient(s) in question, dosage information, and any existing substantiation you have. We work with the claim as it appears on your packaging.
Our panel conducts a dual evaluation: regulatory compliance (does the claim meet DSHEA structure/function requirements?) and scientific validity (does peer-reviewed literature support it at the stated dose and mechanism?).
You receive a detailed written report with a scientific accuracy score from 0 to 100, a label grade from A to C reflecting the strength of evidence, the supporting or contradicting literature, our regulatory compliance assessment, and specific recommendations if applicable.
Green-rated health claims qualify for the ClaimCheck certification logo. Display it on your packaging, website, and marketing materials. Your rating is also published to our public database, and shared with our community of health influencers.

Supporting Scientific Literature
“Supports immune health” — Vitamin C 500mg
Carr & Maggini — Nutrients, 2017 94%
Most cited modern review. Vitamin C enhances neutrophil chemotaxis, phagocytosis, and epithelial barrier function. Prophylactic intake maintains immune readiness; higher doses required during active infection.
Hemilä & Chalker — Cochrane Database, 2013 88%
Gold-standard meta-analysis. ~50% reduction in cold incidence in high-stress populations (marathon runners, soldiers). Modest reduction in duration across the general population.
Wintergerst, Maggini & Hornig — Annals of Nutrition & Metabolism, 2006 81%
Vitamin C plasma levels decline during infection and stress. Supplementation improved NK cell activity, lymphocyte proliferation, antimicrobial function, and delayed-type hypersensitivity.
Hemilä — Nutrients, 2017 76%
Low vitamin C status significantly increases respiratory infection risk. Prophylactic supplementation reduces risk of respiratory viruses, particularly under physical or environmental stress.

a consulting service to help you
An Orange rating for one of your health claims means the science is mixed, limited, or inconclusive, not that there is no path forward. Many Orange health claims can be improved through reformulation, dosage adjustment, or more precise health claim language that more accurately reflects what the evidence supports.
Our consulting team works with manufacturers after an Orange rating to identify the specific gap between current evidence and a Green outcome. We review the literature in detail, identify what formulation or claim changes would close the gap, and help you arrive at a stronger, scientifically credible position.
The goal is not to game the rating system. It is to help you make a better product: one that delivers what the label says. That is better for your brand, better for consumers, and better for the industry.
Original Health Claim
“Boosts cognitive performance”
Scientific literature review
We map all peer-reviewed evidence for the ingredient and identify what the data actually supports.
Ingredient & dose analysis
We identify whether the formulation, dose, and form match what the evidence requires for the claimed effect.
Mechanism gap identification
We pinpoint exactly where the original claim overreaches: vague mechanism, wrong outcome, or unsupported population.
Rewording strategy
We draft revised claim language that accurately reflects the evidence and qualifies for a Green rating.
